About Dwight A Skyers

Dwight Skyers has a passion for real estate, a gift for connecting with people, and a strong background in finance. This dedicated and enthusiastic professional established his real estate career in 2016 and quickly earned accolades. Dwight, lovingly referred to as Dewey by friends and family, actively advocates for continuing education and training. Getting your real estate license isn’t the culmination of learning the profession, he insists. It’s just the beginning.
Dewey’s good character and commitment to education result in exceptional customer service for all his clients. He has earned many certifications in real estate, including: NAR's e-PRO®, Military Relocation Professional, Pricing Strategy Advisor, Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource, and Florida Military Specialist. He also recently completed licensure for Real Estate Broker. Dewey is a self-proclaimed ‘Excel geek’ who thoroughly enjoys educating buyers and sellers on the financial aspects of any transaction, applying his financial background to help customers understand pertinent data and make informed decisions.
Born in Jamaica, Dewey was raised in the US, in Queens, N.Y., completing his high school education there. He finally moved to Jacksonville in 1987, where he still resides.
Dewey is a proud veteran. He joined the United States Navy in 1985 and served for a total of 28 years, 11 years active duty and 17 years with the Reserves. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Through his 28 year USN/USNR career, he worked as an aviation electronics technician on the A-6 Intruder and then as an acoustic operator on the P-3C Orion aircraft. Dewey has also worked as a financial analyst for 6 years and finance manager for 4 years. Alongside this, he completed Naval Instructor School, a course in Total Quality Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration program with the University of Phoenix.
During his varied career paths, Dewey has been responsible for maintaining a servicing system database of over 66,000 accounts valued at more than $532 million. He performed daily reconciliation of approximately 300 funded accounts valued at roughly $2.5 million per day. As an Acoustic Subject Matter Expert he trained members of the Portuguese Air Force, Pakistan Navy, and the Republic of Korea to transition to the P-3C UIII. In addition to providing ROK students with classroom and in-flight instruction, he collaborated on course rewrites and maintained weekly and monthly progress reports. This diverse experience has equipped Dewey with skills in organization, management, leadership, communication and attention to detail, along with finance and business knowledge that has proven invaluable to him throughout his real estate career.
An active person, Dewey enjoys sports, engaging in gymnastics, track and field, and diving during his school years. He loves football and has been a Jacksonville Jaguars season ticket owner since 2014, he and his friends proudly tailgate and attend every home game.
